Match Report
Orwell Park School Boys 1st XI vs  Cheam School
On: Thursday, 20 Jun 2019
Venue: Away

Orwell Park (156 for 9) beat Cheam School (70 All Out) by 86 Runs

After a difficult journey down the A14, we arrived at the fabulous setting of Stowe School. Winning the toss and batting first looked a great call when Everall (10) and Neame (24) started quickly but once they fell our middle order struggled.

It was down to a wonderful knock from Pasco (66no) batting at three to save the innings. With our middle order misfiring, it was down to the tail of Sinclair (17) and Webb (8) to assist Pasco in saving the innings. Orwell managed to get over the 150 target, which was great and Cheam were chasing just over 6 runs per over in response.

In reply, a number of the Cheam batsmen looked comfortable but an outstanding spell from Anderson (5-1-15-5) swung the game in Orwell's favour. He was ably assisted by Everall (5-0-32-2) and Sinclair (4.3-0-23-3). Bowling Cheam out for 70 was an excellent effort from the boys and the result is a credit to their application on the day.

Focus now turns to our next fixture versus Culford.

Player(s) of the Match - Algie Anderson (An excellent five wicket haul) & Billy Pasco (A vital contribution in posting a decent score).
